NOKLL Minor Tigers Sweep D24 Wood Bat Tournament

North Orlando Kiwanis enter two teams in this year's Fall 2020 Little League District 24 Annual Wooden Bat tournament, the minor division Pulous and Bennet Tigers and the major division Teagle Mortgage Orioles.

The minor Tigers swept their two games and won the minor division in convincing fashion. Matt Jones' team took game one against the Union Park Pirates by a score of 22-4. Then followed up in the championship game with a similarly dominant showing, defeating the Delaney Park Red Sox 21-2. This completed a perfect Fall season for the Tigers, winning all 8 of their regular season games as well as the 2 tournament games to finish 10-0.

The major Orioles got off to a hot start in their division of the wooden bat tournament with a 24-6 victory over one of the host teams, the Union Park Brewers. In the second game a rough start left the Orioles trailing early and a late rally fell short as they fell to the Union Park Braves 11-8. In game 3, the Orioles fell short in a back and forth battle with the Delaney Park Pirates, 9-7, to finish 3rd in the major divsion. Including the tournament, coach Terry Troy led his Orioles to a 6-5 season.
